Google Glass and facial recognition – a possible scenario!

A wildly interesting thought occured to me while waiting for my flight at the crowded Delhi airport a few days ago.

What if I was wearing Google Glass, there?

What if the Glass had an app to search, identify and recognize faces of people around me?

What if the app, besides recognizing faces, also searches for their names, and eventually, their social media footprint?

What if I see every person’s (well, anyone the app recognizes) last few tweets or Facebook updates hanging over their heads, via Google Glass?

Technically, I could overhear what people around me are telling the world, in a very different way. Someone could be commenting about my shoes too… and I could perhaps walk up to them and respond, in real life.

Is this the end of serendipity?

Or, considering this another way, is this accentuating serenditipity?
