Just 2 questions that literally popped out at me, while I was going through this morning’s newspaper (Times of India, page 2).

First, see this advertisement/news for Lavasa (click on it for full version).

See the footer notes in the bottom right. Too small to read? Here it is, enlarged.

Now, for those 2 questions.

1. The footer says that the views expressed by the panelists are their own and Lavasa does not subscribe to them. But, this has appeared in The Times of India…with no mention *anywhere* that this is a paid advertisement (Private Treaties? Brand Capital?). So, does that mean The Times of India subscribes to these views? When even the client (Lavasa, in this case) has a disclaimer, why can’t the publication?

2. Who proof-read this advertisement/news? ‘There own’? ‘Dose not subscribe’ A sentence starting and ending with the word ‘views’, while the last one could conveniently be knocked off?
