I stumbled on this interesting effort by Tanishq from a tweet by @manuscrypts. It does sound interesting – interesting enough for me to put my male’ness aside and get into blush territory.
So, what does it do? You start with the instructions, here.
I tried this on both Chrome and Firefox and got some stunned messages on Facebook from worried friends.
This is the pre-Blush state of mine, before installing the plugin.
And this, after I started Blush’ing – after installing the plugin, that is.
It works as advertised – it adds a ‘Blush’ to the list and I enthusiastically clicked on it to what really happens. But all it does is add your comment along with a link…back to the Blush page.
That seemed massively underwhelming until I figured that it may be meant for those who haven’t installed the ‘Blush’ plugin/addon in their browsers. Smart! There are other nuances in their website, of course – like a Blush Meter, options to ‘like’ Blush jewellery and buy them online.
The intent behind that nifty Facebook integration is fantastic, but I’m not sure if it achieves any purpose beyond a user announcing to network/connections about (a) how he/she has installed a new app on Facebook and (b) he/she has something to do with Tanishq’s new campaign.
Is this a Tanishq-aided equivalent of a gushing (blushing?) comment that a user may post on his Facebook wall?
I suppose that is enough curiosity-inducing, from Tanishq’s perspective. The things that happen in the microsite are, in my opinion, a bit all over the place. I understand the idea is to help take things viral at the touch of an online button, and this effort by Tanishq is definitely a fresh approach.
Have you tried Tanishq’s Blush thingy on Facebook or Chrome? What is your take? What did I miss that I can learn? Do let me know.
